I’ve used HaloScan as the commenting system for this blog ever since it started. I have been quite happy with the service, especially since I was able to donate a small amount each year to have no advertisements in the commenting window.
Yesterday I noticed that the owners of HaloScan recently announced that the service would be discontinued and all users given the option to migrate to their new Echo commenting system. The new system appears to have many features with extensive interaction with social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. However, I have decided to simplify and use the commenting system provided by MobileMe, which is where this blog is hosted.
The MobileMe commenting system is convenient in that it integrates with iWeb and allows me to manage the comments right within the blog authoring interface. The only big drawback I see is that the old comments can not be migrated over.
